The Indiana Pacers are happy with their rookies so far in 2008

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 27 November 2008 at 12:53 am

The Pacers are happy with Brandon Rush and Roy Hibbert so far this season. They will likely increase there playing time as the season wears on. Rush has played in 13 games this season for the Pacers and he is averaging 21.0 minutes, 7.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. He could be starting by the end of the season for the Pacers. Center Roy Hibbert has played in 11 games this season and he is averaging 10.3 minutes, 3.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocked shots.

The Indiana Pacers look like they have a keeper in Shawne Williams

Young forward Shawne Williams looks like he’ll be a really good player for the Pacers in the near future.  He played in 46 games this season and he averaged 12.1 minutes, 3.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.  He’s also a good shooter as he hit 46.9% from the floor and 36.5% from three-point range.  I think the Pacers got a steal in last year’s draft when they took Shawne Williams.

Rookie not getting much playing time

Rookie small forward Shawne Williams hasn’t gotten much playing time this season.  With the Pacers have their eyes on the playoffs, it’s likely that he’ll just play in mop up time.  Williams is a very athletic player that should be a contributor in the future for the Pacers.  He’s played in 18 games and is averaging 6.6 minutes, 2.1 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.3 assists.

Pacers rookie finally gets chance

Blogged under Rookie Reports, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 11:24 pm

The Pacers were going to put first round pick Shawne Williams in the Developmental League because they thought he was too raw.  Williams finally got to play on Saturday Night, which was the only game he’s played in this season.  He played 27.4 minutes and scored 13 points, grabbed 1 rebound, dished out 2 assists, stole the ball once and blocked two shots.  Williams has big-time potential, but his minutes might be hard to get behind all the veterans on the Pacers.
