Blogged under The Playoffs, General, Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 27 April 2011 at 7:09 am

The Pacers only shot 39.2% from the floor last night and it’s the big reason that the season is over for them today. Danny Granger led the way for the Pacers in this game with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Tyler Hansbrough also had a solid game with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 1 steal. Roy Hibbert (11 points) and Dahntay Jones (10 points) also pitched in with the Pacers. The Bulls have defeated the Pacers 4-1 in this series, but the Pacers have nothing to feel bad about as they pushed the Bulls some.

Danny Granger is leading the way for the Indiana Pacers in the playoffs

Starting small forward Danny Granger is playing solid basketball against the Bulls and that should come as little surprise to the Pacers. Granger has played in 4 games (all starts) against the Bulls so far in this series and he is averaging 36.8 minutes, 22.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He is shooting 48.6% from the floor and 85% from the free throw line which are pretty solid figures for the playoffs when defenses usually tighten up. But, he might want to tone back on his three point attempts unless he starts making more of them. He is only 5 for 19 (26.3%) shooting from behind the three-point line in this series. For the Pacers to possibly pull an upset in this series, they are going to need someone to step up offensively and back Granger up.

Game #4: Indiana Pacers 89, Chicago Bulls 84

The Pacers pushed the Bulls back yesterday as they held them to 37.8% shooting from the floor which helped them stay alive in this series. Danny Granger led the way for the Pacers yesterday with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Roy Hibbert pitched in with a very solid game with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 blocked shots. A.J. Price also had a decent game with 10 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist in 15 minutes on the floor. The Bulls are still up 3 games to 1 in this series against the Pacers.

Game #3: Chicago Bulls 88, Indiana Pacers 84

The Pacers only shot 37.9% from the floor and it ruined a great defensive effort as they held Derrick Rose to 4 of 18 shooting from the floor. Danny Granger led the way for the Pacers last night with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Dahntay Jones pitched in with 11 points and 1 rebound in only 16 minutes off the bench. Tyler Hansbrough only shot 3 of 12 from the floor as he finished up with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. The Pacers are now in desperate mode as they are down 3-0 to the Bulls in this series.

The Indiana Pacers need more out of Tyler Hansbrough and Roy Hibbert

Blogged under The Playoffs, General, Bloglockers, Need to Step Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 19 April 2011 at 11:07 am

The Pacers are getting outrebounded 53-33 per game in this series and it’s very hard to win that way. With that in mind, the Pacers need Tyler Hansbrough and Roy Hibbert to step up soon or this series is going to be over quickly. Hansbrough is averaging 37.5 minutes, 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game and Roy Hibbert is averaging 27.0 minutes, 9.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 1.0 steal and 2.0 blocked shots per game. Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah are pushing the Pacers around under the basket and it’s time for Hansbrough and Hibbert to start pushing them back.
