The Pacers played well on offense as they shot 53.2% from the floor last night. But, they were outscored 30-20 in the 4th quarter and they didn’t play and D as the Spurs shot 50.6% from the floor and that did them in. Roy Hibbert led the way for the the Pacers last night as he finished up with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocked shots. Danny Granger also had a really good game for the Pacers last night with 26 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Darren Collison was solid running the offense in his Pacers’ debut with 19 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists. Josh McRoberts drew the start at power forward for the Pacers and he finished up with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots in 24 minutes on the floor. Brandon Rush is going to miss the first five games for the Indiana Pacers this year

Shooting guard Brandon Rush is going to miss the first five games of the 2010-11 season due to a league suspension. This could cost him his starting job if Mike Dunleavy plays at a high level in the first 5 games of the year. The Pacers won’t miss Rush probably at all as they have Dahntay Jones behind Dunleavy. When Rush does come back he better be on his best behavior if he wants to get his starting job back.

The over/under on Indiana Pacers wins in 2010-11 is 33.5

The Pacers were 32-50 last season and I see reasons for optimism finally. Danny Granger, Darren Collison and possibly Roy Hibbert give the Pacers a trio of players who could make big impacts. But the rest of the roster is pretty bad so the Pacers will have to ride that trio to improve this year. I would side on taking the under for Pacers’ wins in 2010-11 but it will be close. The Pacers are 200-1 to win the NBA Championship and I would keep my money in my pocket on that one.
