The Indiana Pacers lose Jermaine O’Neal to injury

Blogged under Bloglockers, Big Pacers News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Saturday 19 January 2008 at 7:22 pm

The Pacers have lost power forward/center Jermaine O’Neal for at least the next two weeks with a bruised left knee. O’Neal has played in 33 games so far this season for the Pacers and he is averaging 31.3 minutes, 15.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.2 blocked shots per game. Troy Murphy and Jeff Foster will likely pick up O’Neal’s minutes while he is out. Murphy has played in 35 games this season and he’s averaging 25.9 minutes, 10.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Foster has played in 37 games this season and he is averaging 22.6 minutes, 5.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. The Pacers will miss O’Neal on the defensive end more than the offensive end as Murphy has some skills.
