The Indiana Pacers suspend 2nd year forward Shawne Williams for three games
The Indiana Pacers have suspended 2nd year forward Shawne Williams for the first three games of the season. They have suspended him for failing to adhere to the team’s standard of behavior. He was arrested for marijuana possession and driving without a driver’s license. The Pacers acted quickly as they are trying to eliminate thug like activity which is why they made the big Stephen Jackson trade with the Warriors last season. Williams played in 46 games (3 starts) as a rookie last season and he averaged 12.1 minutes, 3.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. He hit 46.9% of his shots from the floor, 36.5% from three point range and 55.0% from the free throw line. The Pacers expect much more out of Williams in the 2007-08 season.
