The Indiana Pacers release Orien Greene
The Pacers took a chance on Orien Greene last season because of his outstanding athletic ability but they waived him over the weekend because he has shown no improvement as a basketball player. He played in 41 games off of the bench for the Pacers last season and he averaged 6.2 minutes, 1.5 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Greene hit 37.1% from the floor, 18.2% from three point range and 60% from the free throw line.
Over his NBA career, Greene has played in 121 games (5 starts) and he has averaged 12.3 minutes, 2.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He also has shot poorly as he’s only hit 39% of his shots from the floor, 21.6% from three point range and 64.5% from the free throw line.
Losing Greene will be absolutely no loss for the Pacers.
