The Indiana Pacers sign guard Travis Diener

Blogged under Comings & Goings, Bloglockers, Big Pacers News, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 23 July 2007 at 11:53 am

The Pacers have signed guard Travis Diener to a three year contract.  Diener played in 26 games off of the bench for the Orlando Magic last season and he averaged 11.1 minutes, 3.8 points, 0.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.  He shot the ball well as he hit 42.5% of his shots from the floor, 36% from three point range and 80% from the free throw line.

In 49 career NBA games (0 starts), Diener has averaged 10.9 minutes, 3.8 points, 0.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game.  He has shot 42.3% from the floor, 40.2% from three point range and 81% from the free throw line over his career.  Diener is an excellent long range shooter who should really help the Pacers offense if teams are trying to pack the paint.
