Pacers not playing up to ability yet

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 9 January 2007 at 10:36 pm

The Pacers are much better than how they’ve played so far this season.  The Pacers are currently in 4th place in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference with an 18-16 record, 3.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Jermaine O’Neal is one of the most underrated players in the NBA and he’s having another fine season.  O’Neal is averaging 19.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.1 blocked shots per game this season.  Al Harrington has been coasting because he’s a much better player than he’s been so far this season.  Harrington is averaging 16.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.  Stephen Jackson (13.9 points) and Jamaal Tinsley (12.9 points) have not shot well but have helped out with their scoring.  Second year player Danny Granger is a player on the rise as he is averaging 11.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.  The Pacers are a good basketball team, it’s up to Rick Carlisle to bring that out in them.

Al Harrington waking up

Blogged under Steppin Up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 7 January 2007 at 11:00 pm

It seemed as if Harrington was just coasting early in the season, but that has changed lately as he’s gotten really hot in his last 5 games.  Harrington has averaged 19.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game over his last five.  When Harrington is focused and producing the Pacers have a great starting lineup and he needs to keep up his level of play.
