Bad shooting does Pacers in as they lose 104-94 to the Jazz

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Monday 18 December 2006 at 8:54 am

The Pacers only shot 36.5% from the floor and that did them in.  Can’t blame Jermaine O’Neal for this loss as he scored 31 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 4 assists and stole the ball 3 times.  Stephen Jackson also was busy with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.  Danny Granger had another decent game with 12 points, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Sarunas Jasikevicius (12 points) and Darrell Armstrong (10 points) each played well off the bench.

The Pacers fell to 13-13 on the season with this loss.

Danny Granger has been playing alot of minutes so far this season and he’s been producing.  Granger is averaging 12.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game so far this season.  Granger has also been shooting well from the floor.  He’s hitting 45.9% of his shots from the floor and 41.9% of his 3-pointers.  He’s become a solid contributor to the success of the Pacers this season.

The Pacers really played well on defense as they held the Pistons to 39% shooting from the floor.  Jermaine O’Neal led the way with 26 points and 14 rebounds.  Jamaal Tinsley had a good game directing the offense with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.  Al Harrington added 16 points and 5 rebounds.  Stephen Jackson (14 points) and Danny Granger (13 points) added to the offense of the Pacers.

The Pacers evened up their record at 12-12 with this victory.

Pacers rookie finally gets chance

Blogged under Rookie Reports, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 11:24 pm

The Pacers were going to put first round pick Shawne Williams in the Developmental League because they thought he was too raw.  Williams finally got to play on Saturday Night, which was the only game he’s played in this season.  He played 27.4 minutes and scored 13 points, grabbed 1 rebound, dished out 2 assists, stole the ball once and blocked two shots.  Williams has big-time potential, but his minutes might be hard to get behind all the veterans on the Pacers.
